Clean Beach Campaign (CBC)

In October, 2011 we did a Coastline Cleaning Campaign in association with 13 other NGOs from Vizag. The amount of waste from beach we cleaned on that day was very meager and we realized that it is not the cleaning that is the solution for this issue. The solution would rather be to stop littering. Besides this the plastic that is being dumped into the sea is resulting in loss of aquatic biodiversity including the Olive Ridley Turtles. So keeping all this in mind we want to make Vizag beaches plastic free and litter free.

Hence we started a petition to GVMC Commissioner demanding him to impose a ban on plastic and litter on beaches of Vizag as well as roads adjoining them. We are colleting one lakh signatures, and once we collect them we will approach him along with the media for the implementation of the same.
